All the Danes we rescue need a foster home before they can be adopted.  It takes a special kind of person to open their heart and home to a Dane, and then let them go on to their forever family.  Learn about fostering here

Put your influencer skills to work promoting our Danes, and our mission across social media platforms.  

We cover nearly 1,000 linear miles from Virginia to New York.  Often times, a Dane needs rescuing from one end of our region, but the available foster home is hundreds of miles away.  If you have a car and valid driver’s license – you can become one of the road warriors who make that connection.

We serve almost 200,000 square miles throughout the Mid-Atlantic area.  As part of our thorough application process, we visit the homes of potential adopters.  We need trusted volunteers to see where the Dane would live/sleep/exercise, etc., provide information about the care and feeding of Danes, and get an overall feel for the type of dane that would fit well with the potential adopter’s household.

We attend various events to educate people about our rescue and the Great Danes.  If you are outgoing and like to talk about the breed, join our event coordinators. 

Have a social butterfly Dane of your own?  You could become one of our event ambassadors!

All you need is a phone and an hour or two a week to contribute to the cause by reaching out to an applicant, their vet, or references to verify their info.

Every dog we rescue needs to be thoroughly evaluated for temperament, health condition and compatibility with other animals.  With proper training and assistance from our experienced team, you can help assess our incoming orphans.

Danes are photogenic but they can’t post their own selfies.  Donate your creativity and graphic design abilities to helping Danes by keeping our website up to date and looking modern.
